I really like your blog; I think the range of topics is very interesting. About the Biblical Science vs. Real Science video: none of the pictures shown at the beginning of the video seem to be about "Biblical Science." It isn't defined what that might be; I certainly can't think of a definition for that term. There are pictures of historical events like people being burned at the stake and some old-school scientific thoughts that were once held by the majority of scholarly minds. Those things are not in the Bible; it looks like the person who compiled the video was misinformed or didn't bother to investigate it. I think you might benefit from looking at what the original "creationist" video was actually claiming, but it's not shown. I haven't seen the video, but I'm guessing it references ideas such as the commands in the Pentateuch to wash yourself in a river if you have a rash. At that time in history, the most "advanced" scientific advice in the middle East recommended spreading dung into your wounds to help them heal. If Moses were really schooled in the halls of Egyptian pharaohs, as tradition and the Bible claim, then wouldn't he have just written down what he learned from the "healers" in Egypt? So where did he get the correct knowledge, at a time when what we now know to be destructive to the human body was then viewed as beneficial? Another thought: the Bible describes Earth as round. Yet for centuries people thought it was flat. I think perhaps the creators of the video may be trying to ascribe characteristics to the Bible that it lays no claim to. For example, the Bible doesn't claim to be a book about science and makes no attempt to explain scientific ideas. It's a book about how we may have a relationship with our Creator. I do think it's inaccurate for someone to call the Bible a "science textbook;" if I remember correctly the person in the video did that. I do find it interesting that the many graphics, charts, etc. that were displayed all show evidence of a creative, detailed, superintelligent Creator. One last thought that you don't mention but I guess is related: if you feel that the Bible isn't trustworthy for whatever reason, I urge you to investigate that thoroughly from both sides. Don't just believe what you are told by those who hate the Bible, but look into it for yourself as a true scholar would. I have found that my own doubts were always satisfied when I had the courage to explore, test, and prove. It is worth it. Keep up the good work on your blog; I like it.
